my doll is 30″ hidged legs, her head is loose and sleepy eyes. I can’t get her to walk ,she’s heavy,fixable?
She looks like the Am. Character dolls but there is no letters or #’s. Who else made these?
She may be a Patti-play pal but they usually have a code on them, but many of the american factories did make dolls like this for a 20 period of time, some were imported to and sold by different factories, at drug stores and dime stores. I would suggest you visit www.dollreference.com and search that for 30″ dolls and see what comes up. You can also look in dolls and bears on ebay advance search for 30″ to for description and head lines their search engines work great.
Yes the doll can be fixed, early walkers have a rod that runs through the whole body and attached at the top of the heard under the wig.
As the plastic gets older is sometimes will shrink and the bar will have to be trimmed.
Some have that walking part installed to the middle of the stomach area, and the head and arms need to be strung in a loop with a very strong bungee cord.
I have been repairing for a very long time, so you will have to look on the inside of the doll. Then take it to a repair person for doll repair in your area.
